Open nominations for SGA Senator-Elect

The Student Government Association is now seeking nominations for any current first-year law students who are interested in serving in the SGA for two years – as Senator-Elect during his or her second year of law school and Senator during his or her third year of law school.

The Senator-Elect serves as a voting member on the executive board of the Student Bar Association and as a non-voting member of the SGA until his or her third year of law school (at which time he or she effectively becomes SGA Senator).

The qualified student must: (1) be a full-time, first-year law student; (2) have a 2.00 minimum GPA; (3) be in good academic and conduct standing; and (4) cannot be the president of the SGA, GSA, or SBA.

If you or someone you know would be interested in becoming the law school’s SGA Senator-Elect, please submit a nomination (stating the name of the interested party along with an indication of your intent to nominate them) to lmmstain@memphis.edu.

After nominations are received, there will be a petition, application, and interview process.
