Finals Honor Code Reminder
Dear Colleagues,
With finals upon us, I want to remind everyone of the oath each student takes during orientation to uphold the Honor Code. The Honor Code is in place to ensure that law students are conducting themselves professionally and honorably. The Honor Council enforces that Code. If you see any questionable conduct that reasonably causes you to believe that a violation of the Honor Code has occurred, then you are under a duty to report it to the Honor Council in accordance with Provision 21.4(m) of the Academic Regulations. It is especially important that you refrain from speaking with others about an exam because some students may be taking the exam at a different time than you. Additionally, the failure to report a potential violation is an Honor Code violation in and of itself under Provision 21.4(m) of the Academic Regulations. We are completely confidential, so we will handle any referral with the utmost confidentiality, neutrality, and diligence. You may report a violation of the Honor Code to either Dean Wilson, Sarah Pine (spine@memphis.edu), or myself (drdfrece@memphis.edu). We truly appreciate you continuing to uphold your oath and best of luck on the remainder of the semester.
Best,
Dominique DeFreece
Chief Justice
