Updated Academic Regulations

FROM DEAN MULROY

Students:

An updated version of the Academic Regulations has been posted.  The updates reflect certain changes to the Academic Regulations passed by the faculty within the last year.

Some changes will affect only new students matriculating in the fall of 2017.  For example, there is a new requirement that 1L students retake a course before graduating if they get a D, which does NOT apply to current first-year students.

The changes which are relevant to you as current students can be found in Rules 14 and 16.  They are:

  • Clarifying that it is only full-time students who will be excluded after their first semester for having a GPA below 1.5 (Rule 14.1); and
  • Adding Legislation and Fair Employment Practices to the Statutory Menu (Rule 16.1).

Students currently enrolled can “opt in” to the new additions to the Statutory Menu—that is, a student can take Legislation or FEP and have it count toward their Menu requirement.
