NEW! Career Services Announces Its Summer Pro Bono Program: Deadline to Apply is Apr 30th
The Career Services Office is now accepting applications for the inaugural year of the Pro Bono Summer Program (PBSP). For its first year, PBSP will be partnering with the Tennessee Innocence Project (TIP). TIP is a non-profit organization designed to prevent and correct wrongful convictions throughout the State of Tennessee. TIP works with partners across the state to litigate cases and raise awareness for these issues. Students admitted to PBSP will assist remotely on TIP cases.
We are excited that Danielle Dudding Irvine, Bass, Berry & Sims Pro Bono Fellow, will be leading and supervising this new summer project. Depending upon the interest and completed application materials, a maximum of three (3) Summer Fellows will be selected. The program will last for three (3) weeks in June with exact dates to be determined. Students who participate in PBSP will receive, at a minimum, all forty (40) pro bono hours necessary to complete the Law School’s graduation requirement.
How to Apply: Please send your (1) resume and (2) cover letter to Public Interest Counselor Josie S. Holland for collection at jshlland@memphis.edu. Your cover letter should explain your interest in TIP’s work. The deadline to apply is April 30. If you have any questions, please contact Ms. Holland.
