Diversity, Opportunities, Outreach, and Recruitment (DOOR) Program

Below is a link to a list of summer law clerk positions with law firms and unions participating in the Diversity, Opportunities, Outreach, and Recruitment (DOOR) Program through the AFL-CIO Union Lawyers Alliance (ULA).

The DOOR program provides education and networking opportunities to law students of color working for ULA member firms and unions during the summer.  The highlight of the program is a two-day conference in early June, with presentations from lawyers and other professionals about the labor movement and the practice of labor law, including primers on substantive law to help students be successful in their summer positions.

The following link to the ULA website provides further information on pursuing a career in public interest labor law: https://ula-aflcio.org. The site also contains an electronic posting of the enclosed listing of employers: https://ula-aflcio.org/public/door/door-participating-employers/.

We encourage law students of color who are interested in labor law, workers’ rights, and economic justice to participate in the program. Students should apply to the firms or legal departments directly, using the contact indicated in each job advertisement. Applicants should reference the DOOR program in their correspondence.

Interested students should check the website continually as new employers may be added.

If you have any questions or comments about the ULA DOOR Program, please contact me at aroe@aflcio.org.

Sincerely,

Alex Roe
