Last Minute Fall 2015 Externship/Internship Opportunities

As we approach the start of the Fall Semester, the MALS Consumer Unit and City Attorney’s Office Litigation Unit are each looking for externs (for credit) or interns (not for credit) to assist in cases that will be proceeding to court in the coming months:

 – The MALS Consumer Unit is preparing a special education case for a federal jury trial in November.  If selected, the extern/intern will be involved in all aspects of trial preparation and will additionally work on other cases being handled by the Unit.

 – Assistant City Attorney Philip Oliphant requests the assistance of a 3L student extern/intern on several cases set for summary judgment hearings in September and October.  If selected, the extern/intern will assist in the preparation for those hearings and argue one or more of the cases on behalf of the City of Memphis.  The extern/intern will also work on other litigation matters for the City.

If you are interested in one or both of the above opportunities either for credit (through enrollment in the Externship Course) or as an intern, please contact Professor Danny Schaffzin at dschffzn@memphis.edu or 901-678-5056 as soon as possible.
