Gideon’s Promise Summer Internship (1Ls & 2Ls)

Gideon’s Promise has announced Summer Internship Opportunities for 1Ls and 2Ls.  The mission of this organization is to “inspire, mobilize, and train” public defenders to provide quality representation for their clients and to ensure those who are most vulnerable have equal access to criminal justice.

In addition to providing continuing education, Gideon’s Promise manages a Summer Law Clerk program designed to expose interested law school students to indigent defense. Several of our partner offices are still accepting clerk applications, including the Shelby County Public Defender in Memphis.  1L and 2L students are encouraged to apply. The clerkship is unpaid, but participants will work closely with Gideon’s Promise-trained lawyers and gain plenty of hands-on experience.
