Changes to Coverage of Bar Exam

The Tennessee Supreme Court has recently revised its rules concerning coverage on the bar exam. Articles 3 and 6 of the UCC will no longer be covered. Article 3 covers negotiable instruments, and it provides the focus for the Commercial Paper course. We wanted to make sure you knew this, as it might affect your decision regarding enrollment in Commercial Paper.

Although Commercial Paper is no longer a “bar course,” there are still good reasons to take the course. It is a Statutory Menu course. As a “code course,” it provides good practice in working with a statutory code. And anyone practicing as either commercial lawyers or litigators would be well advised to learn about negotiable instruments (basically, checks and promissory notes), since they are involved so frequently in commercial transactions.

I hope the above is helpful to you.
