Domestic Violence CLE hosted by the AWA Professional Chapter

This is part of a new initiative to help Attorneys broaden their practice and also to develop a long term Pro Bono initiative to help MALS and the CLC with Protective Order cases

The 1^st portion of the CLE will be a panel discussion of the enforcement of civil orders as well as the criminal prosecution of domestic violence crimes

The 2^nd portion of the CLE will focus on the campus domestic violence victim, contrasting the on campus administrative process versus civil orders of protection and criminal process.

Speakers will include: Commissioner Shayla Purifoy, Judge Gina Higgins, Victim’s Advocate – Jasmine Wright, An Attorney from the ADA’s Office – Domestic Violence Unit, Brice Timmons, and a MPD officer (TBD) on the task force for enforcement to explain the criminal enforcement of DV charges.
