More Registration News!

In the email sent yesterday by Ms. Edwards regarding registration, the “pre-requisite” link to the Course Catalog did not work. Use this link instead.

Also, questions have been raised by some students about how to receive Law Review and Moot Court credit. Below is an explanation that I hope will clarify those processes.

LAW REVIEW

  • Law Review Note credit is normally earned in the spring semester of a student’s second year.  The Editor-in-Chief supplies students’ names to the Law Registrar, who will issue permits and notify students to register themselves.
  • Law Review staff and Editorial Board credit is earned in the student’s final semester and registering is handled in the same manner (names from the Editor-in-Chief, permit issued and students register themselves).

MOOT COURT COMPETITION

A student does not earn a ½ credit on their transcript for one in-school competition. A student must compete in two competitions in order to earn the full 1-credit or four competitions for 2-credits. For in-school competition credit, students will register themselves in Course 811 (section 11 or 12) in the semester they plan to compete in their second or fourth competition. The Law Registrar verifies with the Chief Justice that the credit was actually earned.

MOOT COURT BOARD CREDIT

Moot court board or executive board credit is earned in a student’s final semester. The Chief Justice or Prof. Kritchevsky supplies students’ names to the Law Registrar, who will issue permits and notify students to register themselves.

TRAVEL TEAMS

For moot court or mock trial/ADR travel team credit, the Chief Justice or Prof. Kritchevsky supplies students’ names to the Law Registrar, who will issue permits and notify students to register themselves.
