Welcome, Baby!

For those of you who do not embroil yourselves in citation controversy, you may have been unaware of the Baby Blue project. It is an attempt to create an open source, online equivalent to the Bluebook that would be in the public domain. Well, Baby Blue is now live, and available here.  (The foregoing link is included because there is no search function on the PublicResource.org website, and no apparent link directly to baby Blue.)

The rules remain the same between the Bluebook and Baby Blue, the main change is in the examples provided and the explanations that accompany them.  There have, not unexpectedly, been copyright claims filed by the Harvard Law Review Association. Due to the unsettled legal nature of the material, and the fact that it has not been widely adopted by the legal profession, the law library is not currently endorsing the use of Baby Blue, either for coursework or for legal practice.
