Student Trustee Here UofM Board of Trustees – Student Trustee Position Description
The University of Memphis’ Board of Trustees are responsible for selecting a student to serve as the student trustee on the board. The student is a non-voting member of the board. Student Trustee Selection Committee will take applications, interview, and recommend at most the names of three students to the President for a final selection to be presented to the Board.
Responsibilities:
- Attend all Board of Trustees meetings, including corresponding committee meetings of which may be appointed.
- Provide University updates/reports to the SGA Senate at regular senate meetings
- Work with the presidents of the Student Government Association, Student Bar Association, and
- Graduate Student Association
- Other duties as assigned
Position Qualifications:
- Full-time student based on number of credits each classification denotes as full-time
- Minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA (Undergraduate & Graduate)
- Minimum 2.00 cumulative GPA (Law)
- Undergraduates shall be one of the following classifications at the time of applying
2nd Semester Sophomore
1st Semester Junior
2nd Semester Junior
- Law students shall be either in their 1st or 2nd year
- Graduate students (Doctoral included) shall have at least completed one semester within their degree program
- Be in good academic and conduct standing
- Be enrolled and serve for the full 1-year term
