Spring 2024 Legal Internships with Office of Counsel to the Inspector General

The Office of Counsel to the Inspector General (OCIG) for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) is now accepting applications for its Spring 2024 Legal Internships for students interested in health law and health care fraud and abuse. OCIG promotes the mission of the Office of Inspector General (OIG) through timely, accurate, and persuasive legal advocacy and counsel. OCIG offers substantive legal work that gives interns experience in health law and health care fraud and abuse and an opportunity to demonstrate their writing, analytical, and advocacy skills. Through this program, OCIG strives to give each clerk an opportunity to work on a broad array of health care matters, perform legal research, and draft briefs, legal memorandum, and other correspondence.

Applications for this spring’s unpaid internship will be accepted and considered on a rolling basis through September 30, 2023. Applicants must be in their second or third year of law school or in an LLM program. Applicants must also qualify for either course credit or participate in a school sponsored public interest program. Instructions for submitting an application are included in the attached document titled “Spring 2024 OIG Health Care Fraud and Abuse Legal Internship.” Applications must be submitted by email to OCIG.LawClerks@oig.hhs.gov. The posting is also available on the OIG website.
