Reminders: Law Degree Verification forms

Not taking the Bar at all this summer?  If you have not already, please notify the Law Registrar’s office as soon as possible.

Are you sitting for the Bar in Tennessee this summer? You should be working on your Bar application. Although the application is not due until May 20th, an applicant who wants feedback/status updates on their application should have everything submitted by the initial deadline, May 3rd.

Tennessee Bar takers: Please print the first page of the Law Degree Verification form titled Authorization and Release and have it notarized. If you do not have access to a notary, the Law Registrar, Cheryl Edwards can notarize the form. Send her a quick email to schedule an appointment.  This is the only form you need to provide to the Law Registrar’s office. Once notarized, bring the form to the Law Registrar’s office [Administrative/Dean’s wing, second floor]. Ms. Hope is here most days and can accept the form. BUT, you’ll need to email her the day prior so she will be expecting you and can open the door to the suite.  Ms. Edwards will begin to be upload Law Degree Verification forms to the TNBLE’s site the week of April 5th.

Not worried about the May 3/feedback deadline? That’s fine, BUT the Authorization and Release form must be turned into the Law Registrar’s office no later than May 14th to ensure it arrives by the May 20 deadline.

Not sitting for the Tennessee Bar exam? Check your state’s Bar Examiners website for deadlines and requirements.  No matter the state, the will be a form or a letter that the Law Registrar will need to send to verify your degree. If you need assistance, please let Ms. Edwards know.
