Interns assigned to the Legal Division will assist attorneys in performing supervised legal research and writing and preparing legal memoranda covering a wide range of topics relating to the operation of the Legal Office. Areas of operation include bank regulatory and consumer compliance matters.The practice of law at the FDIC reflects the broad nature of the FDIC’s work as well as its unique statutory powers. For example, because the FDIC has independent litigating authority, our attorneys practice before virtually all courts. FDIC attorneys develop case strategy, write the briefs and appear in court for arguments. The FDIC’s Legal Division is a full service corporate practice providing not only litigation but transactional, regulatory and administrative legal services to the Corporation. This position is located in the Legal Division, Memphis Area Office, Memphis, TN of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation. The applicants selected will be offered a temporary appointment not-to-exceed 09/30/2015. Applicants maybe extended up to one year from the initial appointment date and may be extended one additional year thereafter.
