New Law School Students Calendar

I am excited to announce that we have a new Law School Students Calendar that will help you see what events are going on around the law school.  You can also access the calendar from the On Legal Grounds page by clicking “Law School Students Calendar.”  (Please bookmark and use these links, as they automatically select the correct calendar on the page.  Otherwise, you will need to ensure that only the Law School Students Calendar is selected).

The calendar pulls events from our room reservation system (EMS) that are marketed to students.  Instructions on how to ensure that your room reservation will also display on the student event calendar are available here.  Items that show up on this calendar automatically appear on the monitors around the building in short format (title, date, time, location).

What you should use this calendar for:

  • Checking to see what speakers or meetings are coming up.
  • Checking to see where you can go get a free lunch while you listen to an interesting speaker.
  • Checking to see what’s happening on campus that day.  You can even see a quick glance on your phone of today’s events if you bookmark this link.

What you should not use this calendar for:

  • Checking for room availability and event conflicts.
    • This calendar does not display all existing room reservations – it only displays those reservations that are being marketed to students.  As you are planning your events, you should still long in to the main EMS room reservation system to check room availability and for other event conflicts (so you can avoid conflicts).  Instructions here.
  • Important deadlines.
    • This calendar does not pull important deadlines or information not associated with a room reservation.  I.e., registration dates and deadlines will not appear on this calendar.
  • As substitute for checking On Legal Grounds.
    • This calendar will not include announcements from the Registrar’s office, Student Affairs, Career Services, as well as other announcements and deadlines from student organizations and other information of interest to our students.
    • You should still check On Legal Grounds each day for important (and more detailed) information about events and other announcements.
