GETTING CONNECTED-WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 26, 2018 @ NOON IN WADE

PALS PRESENTS, GETTING CONNECTED: HOW TO GET INVOLVED W/ MEMPHIS LEGAL SERVICES & LEGAL NON-PROFITS ON WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 26, 2018 @ NOON IN WADE AUDITORIUM. Lunch will be provided. This panel which will include Memphis Alumni and others will discuss how to get connected with legal aid and other legal related organizations in Memphis. They will tell how you can get started today; how to begin; who to talk to; any requirements their organization has; how to network with attorneys and judges; how whether you are a 1, 2, or 3L you can help clients now; how you can help organizations that help Memphis; how you can get pro bono hours; and, how YOU can maximize your legal education with experiential learning. If you haven’t heard Josh Spickler speak about Criminal Justice Reform Lobbying, the Bail Fund or the Clean Slate fund then come and learn how you can help while you learn. If you haven’t heard Danielle speak about MALS and all the opportunities at MALS for volunteers in the areas of Consumer Law, Special Education, Divorce, Bankruptcy, Fair Housing, Restoration of Rights, Elder, Veterans, Rural then this panel is for you. All of our speakers are excited to share their opportunities with law students who become a valuable volunteer workforce in conjunction with their attorney counterparts.
