Library 4th floor Reading Room…and other good study spots

In law student surveys across the country, more than 90% of students have noted that their number one reason for going to the library is for quiet study.   It’s part of what distinguishes law school libraries from undergrad libraries and public libraries.

Since the study of law requires deep focus, the quiet found in the law library facilitates that learning: a place for respite from noise distraction.   As noted by the author of a book I’d recommend if you didn’t already have plenty to read:

“Don’t take breaks from distraction. Instead take breaks from focus.” – Cal Newport, Deep Work

The beautiful reading room on fourth floor is part of the library study area.  Please be courteous to your fellow students by choosing to hold your conversations outside the law library and ensuring that we have places for focused study.
