HIPAA for Law Firms CLE – FREE to Law Students!

Exciting CLE: On Tuesday, September 22, attorneys Janelle Burns, Baptist Memorial Health Care Corporation, and Nesrin Tift, Bass Berry & Sims, will present an informative CLE program on HIPAA for Law Firms. These dynamic HIPAA experts will discuss a law firm’s role as it intersects with clients’ protected health information (PHI), helping attorneys understand what is required to protect client data, when a business associate relationship is created, and how to minimize risk. PHI includes client medical records and bills. The presenters will also discuss the steps that should be taken to comply with the law firm’s business associate responsibilities and give examples of enforcement actions against business associates.
