Disability Accommodations for Law Students
If you have ever been diagnosed with a disability (some disability types include sensory, psychological, cognitive/learning, mobility, and neurological), we encourage you to reach out to Disability Resources for Students (DRS) or to Dean Aden about accommodations for equal access/opportunity in law school. If you have questions about what constitutes a disability and what support is available to you, please contact DRS and they can help you with clarification and general questions.
You can find find out more about how DRS works with law students here.
Steps for connecting with the DRS Office:
- Complete the Student Introduction Form
- DRS office will contact you to set up an appointment
- All accommodations are individualized on a case-by-case basis
- Provide documentation of your condition with the student introduction form
- Tara Buchanan at 901-678-2880 or tmbchnnn@memphis.edu with any questions
Students interested in seeking accommodations should reach out to the Disability Resources Office as soon as possible, as it often takes time to get accommodations in place.
