Attention Students: TWEN Email spam/junk mail issue

To all law school students,

As some of you are aware, there is an ongoing issue where TWEN emails are being bounced to your spam/junk email folders rather than going to your inboxes as they should. Main campus IT has been troubleshooting this issue but now believe that Microsoft’s internal spam filters, which they do not have any control over, are being tripped by the TWEN emails and this is what is sending them to your junk folders. As of right now, the only way to resolve the issue is for you to regularly check your Spam/Junk email folders for TWEN emails and mark them as “Not Junk.” This will eventually “teach” Microsoft’s system that the emails are safe so that they will stop being sent to your Junk folders and instead will go to your Inbox as they should. The following are instructions to perform this task:

In Outlook:
Select your Junk E-mail folder and find any TWEN emails.
Right click on a TWEN email, hover your cursor over the Junk selection and then choose “Not Junk”.
A message prompt will appear asking for confirmation to move the e-mail to your Inbox. Choose “Yes.”

In Office 365 Webmail:
Select your Junk E-Mail folder and find any TWEN emails.
Right click on a TWEN email and choose “Mark as Not Junk” from the selections presented
You will be presented with a message asking if you want to report this email to Microsoft to help improve their email protection technologies. Choose Report.

Over time these steps should teach Microsoft’s systems to not mark your TWEN emails as Junk. Please check your Junk folders regularly so that you do not miss any TWEN emails. The University will also continue to look for a permanent resolution to the issue. Thank you very much!
