Judicial Clerk (Term) Tennessee Court of Appeals, Middle Section
Judge W. Neal McBrayer of the Tennessee Court of Appeals is seeking a qualified person to serve as a Judicial Term Clerk. The position is located in Nashville, Tennessee and is in-office. The term begins August/September 2027 and is one year with the possibility of an additional year.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Research issues of federal and state law.
2. Draft legal memoranda, opinions, and orders.
3. Prepare the judge for oral argument.
4. Generally, provide legal counsel and support to the judge.
5. Exhibit the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience: Juris Doctor degree. Experience on the editorial board of a law review preferred. Skills and Abilities: Exhibits good judgment and analytical skills; demonstrates initiative; possesses a strong work ethic; maintains a professional appearance and demeanor; works quickly and harmoniously with others in a team-based environment; communicates effectively, both orally and in writing; and exercises discretion in handling confidential matters.
Licensure and Certification Requirements: Intention to take a state bar exam or possesses a certificate of admission to a state bar.
