3Ls: Apply for Post-Grad Judicial Clerkship with TN Court of Appeals by October 6
The Honorable J. Steven Stafford of the Tennessee Court of Appeals is seeking a clerk for the August 2023-August 2024 term in his office in Dyersburg, TN. Individuals should be excellent writers and independent thinkers who want to gain valuable experience and networking opportunities by working with one of the longest-serving appellate judges in Tennessee. Judge Stafford’s clerks have gone on to a variety of different law careers, including private practice at big and small firms, Tennessee Supreme Court clerkships, federal clerkships, the Tennessee Attorney General’s Office, public defender’s offices across the country, and state circuit court judgeships.
Judge Stafford is seeking candidates with these preferred qualifications:
- Top 1/3 of the class
- Journal and/or moot court experience
- Excellent research and writing skills
In order to apply, candidates should submit the following: (1) cover letter; (2) resume; (3) unofficial transcript; (4) writing sample; (5) and a list of three references via Symplicity OCI, “FALL 2022 OCI: The Honorable J. Steven Stafford Tennessee Court of Appeals” by Thursday October 6th. Interviews of selected students will occur on campus on Friday October 21.
