2025 Summer Legal Internship Program:
Tennessee Valley Authority, Office of the General Counsel, Knoxville, TN
The Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), a corporation owned by the U.S.
government, is the largest public power provider in the United States. TVA
employs over 10,000 people and provides services to Tennessee as well as to
parts of 6 other states across the Valley. Additional information about the

TVA’s Office of General Counsel (OGC) employs approximately 45 attorneys as
well as other professionals who provide a full range of legal services to TVA,
including representing TVA’s interests in judicial and administrative litigation.
OGC is also responsible for managing TVA’s Ethics and Compliance program,
as well as Enterprise Records.
Interns accepted for this opportunity will work on a wide variety of legal
matters across all practice areas represented in the OGC. Practice groups
include litigation, regulatory law, commercial law, and employment law.
Guidance and mentorship are available throughout the Internship.
As with all TVA employment, TVA is especially interested in candidates with diverse
backgrounds. Required Hiring Criteria: Current 2L Preferred Hiring Criteria: Top 33% of the class.
OGC Internships are compensated on an hourly basis. The Internships require
40 hours per week, beginning mid May and ending early August 2025. TVA is
currently in a hybrid work environment, and it is anticipated that Interns will
work remotely. Interns will be required to be in the Knoxville office at
minimum, two times during the session and potentially more as needs of the
work develop or require.
