Paid Army JAG Summer Internships
Our 1L Summer Interns will be placed in Army legal offices throughout the United States from June 3 to August 1. This paid internship is for students interested in gaining first-hand experience of life in the Army JAG Corps through complete integration in Army legal offices as valued team members. Although 1L interns are civilian employees and do not incur a military service obligation by participating, the Army JAGC Summer Internship Program is designed to expose the intern to the projects, cases, and professionalism of an Army Judge Advocate. Unlike other civilian intern programs for law students, interns selected for the Army JAGC Summer Internship Program work under the supervision of uniformed Judge Advocates and military personnel. Interns can expect to assist Judge Advocates in the preparation of criminal and civil cases; counseling and representing Soldiers, their family members, and retirees; and may even assist Judge Advocates and Army civilian attorneys who represent the Army and the United States in federal tort claims, or other matters in employment law, national security law, and environmental law. Additionally, interns will have the opportunity to apply for an early offer of a commission in the JAG Corps at the end of their internship.
The application will be open from December 22, 2023, to February 13, 2024. Results will be announced by mid-March.
