OPEN PLACEMENTS REMAIN &#8211;\u00a0FINAL OPPORTUNITY TO APPLY FOR ENROLLMENT"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Rising 2L and\u00a03L Students:<\/p>\n<p>Enrollment in the Law School&#8217;s Externship Course\u00a0is an incredible way to gain valuable legal experience, continue honing your lawyering skills, and earn academic credit while working under the supervision of judges and practicing attorneys. \u00a0This summer, more than 50 students completed field placements through\u00a0the Summer 2017 Externship Course.<\/p>\n<p>If you are not one of the students already\u00a0enrolled in the Fall 2017 Externship Course, you can still apply for\u00a0a number of excellent field placements that remain available\u00a0through\u00a0Course enrollment. \u00a0Among them are the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>U.S. Bankruptcy Court\u00a0(two credits; 8\u00a0weekly placement\u00a0hours)\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Tennessee Supreme Court (two credits; 8 weekly placement hours)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Baptist Memorial Healthcare\u00a0&#8211; Office of Legal Counsel (three credits; 12\u00a0weekly placement\u00a0hours)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Regional One Health (formerly The Med) &#8211; Office of Legal Counsel (three credits; 12 weekly placement\u00a0hours)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Memphis Area Legal Services &#8211; Family\u00a0Unit, Consumer Unit, Education Law Unit,\u00a0Fair Housing Unit, Low Income Taxpayer Unit\u00a0(two credits; 8 weekly placement\u00a0hours)\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Mid-South Immigration\u00a0Advocates\u00a0(two credits; 8 weekly placement\u00a0hours)\u00a0<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Memphis City Attorney&#8217;s Office\u00a0&#8211; Litigation Unit and Transactional Unit\u00a0(three credits; 12\u00a0weekly placement\u00a0hours)<\/em><\/li>\n<li><em>Memphis-Shelby County Airport Authority &#8211;
