A reminder that tryouts for the 2016-17 National Mock Trial Team will be held on Friday, October 28th<\/sup>, and on Monday, October 31st<\/sup>. \u00a0Please register for your National Trial Team tryout by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26th<\/sup>.<\/em><\/p>\n 2016-17 Regional Competition<\/u><\/strong>: The\u00a0National Trial Team will compete in the Regional Rounds of the National Trial Competition at Washington University in St. Louis School of Law\u00a0on February 16-18, 2017.<\/p>\n Preparation<\/u><\/strong>: Applicants will be expected to give a closing argument based on State of Lone Star v. Martin<\/strong>, a case file from a previous National Trial Competition. \u00a0The closing argument should be 5-7 minutes in length. \u00a0Applicants can argue for either the State or Defendant.\u00a0 The tryout will be 15 minutes in length, including both the closing argument and a follow-up discussion with the Trial Team coaches.<\/p>\n Registration for a Tryout<\/u><\/strong>: Interested students should register for the National Mock Trial Team\u2019s TWEN page (2016-17 National Mock Trial Team\u201d) and sign-up for a tryout slot under the \u201csign-up sheets\u201d tab on the TWEN page.\u00a0 Once you have signed up for a tryout slot, please e-mail a current resume to Professor Schaffzin at dschffzn@memphis.edu<\/a>. \u00a0You can access the tryout case file, State of Lone Star v.
