{"id":5217,"date":"2016-03-16T11:29:30","date_gmt":"2016-03-16T16:29:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onlegalgrounds.law.memphis.edu\/wordpress\/?p=5217"},"modified":"2016-03-16T11:29:30","modified_gmt":"2016-03-16T16:29:30","slug":"southaven-court-seeks-1l-or-2l-for-pro-bono-summer-internship-apply-asap","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/southaven-court-seeks-1l-or-2l-for-pro-bono-summer-internship-apply-asap\/","title":{"rendered":"Southaven Court seeks 1L or 2L for Pro Bono Summer Internship: APPLY ASAP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Southaven (Mississippi)\u00a0Court seeks a 1L or 2L for a Pro Bono Summer Internship.\u00a0\u00a0Southaven has two part-time judges (Judge David Delgado and Judge Jody Neyman), who have their own private law practices when not on the bench.\u00a0\u00a0Court is held 2 days a week, and the law clerk will spend a majority of the time in the office without a judge present.\u00a0\u00a0 The\u00a0student\u00a0is expected to be\u00a0involved with the following:\u00a0 Researching legal issues &#8211; especially researching the &#8220;debtor prison&#8221; cases pending in Mississippi; Assisting in reviewing the template court orders that are used in Municipal Court; Reviewing the misdemeanor bail schedule in light of the Federal lawsuit filed against Moss Point, MS concerning bail schedules; Assist in new collection procedures, which will include filing court judgments in the county judgment rolls.
