Rucker of the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee at Chattanooga seeks a 1L or 2L to serve as a summer intern.\u00a0 Applicants should excel academically and be well respected by their professors and peers.\u00a0 The internship period will be four to six weeks.\u00a0 Judge Rucker does allow split summers.<\/p>\n<p>Although this internship is unpaid, a Memphis law student can earn pro bono service hours.\u00a0 In addition, it is an excellent experience for a student who enjoys bankruptcy or business law.\u00a0 Summer interns attend hearings, edit opinions, and prepare bench notes for the Court&#8217;s dockets on Chapter 13 motions to dismiss and objections to confirmation.\u00a0 Research projects may also be assigned.<\/p>\n<p>Summer interns also have the benefit of the close proximity of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee and are afforded an opportunity to observe trials in both the Bankruptcy and District Courts.\u00a0 Past summer interns have also thoroughly enjoyed the many activities and events Chattanooga has to offer over the summer.<\/p>\n<p>Applicants should submit a resume and cover letter on or before February 29, 2016 to :<\/p>\n<p>The Honorable Shelley D.
