The event is free and open to the public and the lecture begins at 5 p.m. in Blount Auditorium of Buckman Hall on the Rhodes campus. There will be a reception and book signing following the lecture. A noted historian of the Supreme Court and the Constitution, Urofsky will explore great dissents and dissenters in the history of the Court. Although dissenting opinions represent the “losing” side of a case, they play an important role in the nation’s ongoing constitutional conversation and they sometimes end up shaping future decisions. Those with specific inquiries about the series or lecture can contact Dr. Jonathan Judaken, the Spence L. Wilson Chair in Humanities at Rhodes, at judakenj@rhodes.edu or (901) 843-3292.

Memphis Law students, faculty, and staff are invited to attend Rhodes College’s annual Constitution Day Lecture, of which the law school is...

"_jetpack_memberships_contains_paywalled_content":false
_jetpack_memberships_contains_paid_content":false
[45

post-471","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-announcements
["GET
