This project will continue until February 2027. Today, you may hear noise from alterations to basement doors to bring in large equipment. Other than that, UofM Physical Plant leadership does not expect there to be significant noise during the project. All work will occur in the basement. The contractor advised that they have taken steps to eliminate any loud noises during the Nov 30 through Dec 11 exam period. Please contact the Dean&#8217;s Office if any disruptions occur.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\">From Friday, October 30 &#8211; Sunday, November 2, one boiler will be taken offline and there will be a partial system shutdown. There will be no hot water in the building these days. Heat may be impacted in the basement and south side of\u00a0the first floor, however Physical Plant can make manual adjustments to keep these areas comfortable. They are scheduling this part of the project as soon as possible in hopes that the weather will still be warm. The other two boilers will be replaced during winter break. We will send communications before major milestones and any related disruptions occur.<\/p>\n<p class=\"x_elementtoproof\">\n<p class=\"x_elementtoproof\">This is a very large and important project for our long-term operations. The Physical Plant has basically been putting band-aids on this system for years.
