Preference will be given to those who have passed the Bar Exam<em> or those who are taking the Bar in 2026<\/em>. The projected starting salary for this position is $56,000 to $62,000 and is subject to the approved pay scale of Rutherford County Government. The expected length of the clerkship is one year. Successful candidates will work closely with a Criminal or Civil Trial Court Judge and their respective Judicial Assistant.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x16tdsg8\">Duties include preparing dockets, drafting orders, conducting legal research, preparing jury instructions, coordinating with attorneys and assist in the daily operations of court proceedings.<\/p>\n<p class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x16tdsg8\"><b><strong class=\"x1s688f\">All applicants may e-mail their cover letter, resume and writing samples to Terri Riedley at triedley@rutherfordcountytn.gov.\u00a0<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x16tdsg8\"><b><strong class=\"x1s688f\">Applicants should indicate their interest in either Criminal\u00a0or Civil law, or both.<\/strong><\/b>\u00a0<b><strong class=\"x1s688f\">The deadline date for these applications is December 23, 2025.<\/strong><\/b><\/p>\n<p class=\"xdj266r x14z9mp xat24cr x1lziwak x16tdsg8\">It is anticipated that the positions will become available in August 2026. However, the exact start date will be determined by each individual judge.
