{"id":3612,"date":"2015-09-14T10:19:14","date_gmt":"2015-09-14T15:19:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onlegalgrounds.law.memphis.edu\/wordpress\/?p=3612"},"modified":"2015-09-14T10:19:14","modified_gmt":"2015-09-14T15:19:14","slug":"tennessee-business-court","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/tennessee-business-court\/","title":{"rendered":"Tennessee Business Court"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Law School and Butler Snow\u00a0are pleased to welcome Davidson County Chancellor Ellen Lyle to the Law School to give a presentation about the new Tennessee Business Court on September 24, at 3:00 p.m. The Business Court\u00a0is a pilot project to centralize certain business-related cases in a court of specialized\u00a0jurisdiction and knowledge. \u00a0It will begin just in Davidson County, but may eventually spread to other counties in Tennessee.\u00a0More information about the Business Court can\u00a0be\u00a0found\u00a0here:\u00a0<a tabindex=\"-1\" title=\"http:\/\/www.tsc.state.tn.us\/bizcourt\nCmd+Click or tap to follow the link\" href=\"http:\/\/www.tsc.state.tn.us\/bizcourt\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.tsc.state.tn.us\/bizcourt<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<p>Chancellor Lyle is the first Judge of the new Business Court and is traveling around the state to speak to lawyers and the business community about the court. Chancellor Lyle will\u00a0give a presentation about the background and procedures of the Business Court and take questions from the audience. \u00a0<span class=\"contextualExtensionHighlight ms-font-color-themePrimary ms-border-color-themePrimary ident_973_1077\" tabindex=\"0\">Butler Snow and the Law School are hosting\u00a0a reception for her in\u00a0the Reading Room to begin around 4:30.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>If you would like to attend this event, please RSVP to emily.tucker@butlersnow.com by September 22.
