{"id":30595,"date":"2023-11-20T16:01:32","date_gmt":"2023-11-20T22:01:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=30595"},"modified":"2023-11-20T16:01:32","modified_gmt":"2023-11-20T22:01:32","slug":"fall-2023-course-evaluations-close-11-22-at-1159-p-m","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/fall-2023-course-evaluations-close-11-22-at-1159-p-m\/","title":{"rendered":"Fall 2023 Course Evaluations Close 11\/22 at 11:59 p.m."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fall 2023 course evaluations will close on Wednesday, Nov. 22, at 11:59 p.m.<\/p>\n<p>Your thoughtful, professional, and candid feedback is crucial to the success of the law school.\u00a0 \u00a0Professors receive course evaluations after course grades are reported.\u00a0 Neither your name nor any identifying information is given to the evaluated professor.<\/p>\n<p>The most important part of the SETE form is the comments section.\u00a0 Please take the time to complete this section of the SETE evaluation.\u00a0 This section allows you to provide specific, thoughtful feedback that expands on the numerical ratings.<\/p>\n<p>Student evaluations play a critical role at the Law School.\u00a0 Professors use your feedback to inform their decisions about course development and delivery, including teaching methodologies.\u00a0 Additionally, your evaluations inform the review of professors that takes place every year as well as hiring, promotion, and retention decisions.\u00a0 Thus, it is important that your feedback be professional, specific, and constructive.<\/p>\n<p>To make your evaluations as useful as possible to your professors and the Law School, keep in mind the follow guidelines:<\/p>\n<p>(1) speak based on your own experiences;<\/p>\n<p>(2) include feedback about what worked well and what could have worked better;<\/p>\n<p>(3) provide specific feedback that focuses on your learning rather than general critiques or praise; alternative solutions, suggestions, and examples are especially helpful; feedback that incorporates objectively describable facts is especially informative; and<\/p>\n<p>(4) be respectful, even \u2013 perhaps especially \u2013 when identifying areas for improvement;
