A student\u2019s designated registration day is determined by their total <strong><em>attempt*\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>hours listed on their unofficial transcript. Our Course Grid, Course Schedule, Registration Memo, Exam Schedule, etc. will be ready soon. A blog post will be made once these materials are posted.<\/p>\n<p>You may receive an email with the subject, \u201cPrepare for Registration \u2013 Summer and Fall 2023.\u201d Some of the information contained in the email does NOT pertain to Law students. <strong>Any Law registration-related questions or concerns should be communicated with Ms. <a href=\"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/rising-2ls-and-3ls-read-this-summer-fall-2022-registration\/cedwrds2@memphis.edu\">Cheryl Edwards<\/a>\u00a0in the Law Registrar\u2019s office.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Financial Aid questions<\/strong>\u00a0should be sent to Jessica Howell at <a href=\"mailto:jhowell7@memphis.edu\">\u00a0jhowell7@memphis.edu<\/a>.\u00a0 Provide your U-number in the subject line along with \u201cLAW.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong>For Tuition\/Fees questions or issues<\/strong>, you should\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/memphis.topdesk.net\/tas\/public\/ssp\/16c66ad1-d192-4d26-ae7a-9a663e3ebcd2\">submit a ticket to the USBS helpdesk,<\/a> contact them by phone at 901.678.2712, or in person at 115 Wilder Tower on the U of M main campus.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STUDENTS WITH APPROVED ACCOMMODATIONS:\u00a0<\/strong>You are NOT allowed to register earlier than your designated registration day, despite any messaging to you from the Disability Resources for Students office or the main campus Registrar\u2019s office. This is closely monitored by Ms. Cheryl Edwards, the Law Registrar. Scroll to the bottom of the page to find \u201cAttempt Hours.\u201d\n<ul>\n<li><strong>NOTE: Attempt hours do NOT include the current semester hours.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>IMPORTANT REGISTRATION-RELATED ACADEMIC REGULATIONS:\u00a0<\/strong>Below are important\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/law\/registrar\/academic-regulations.php\">Academic Regulations<\/a> to review before registering for classes.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Academic Regulation 5.1 \u2013 FT students must enroll in at least 12 credit hours (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/law\/documents\/requestforpermissiontofallbelowcredithourminimum.docx\">Request a waiver<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Academic Regulation 5.1 \u2013 FT students may enroll in up to 18 credit hours EXCEPT that (a) a student with less than a 2.5 cumulative grade point average may not enroll in more than 16 credit<br \/>\nhours and (b) a student enrolled in an externship program may not enroll in more than 16 credit hours, including the externship.\u00a0 (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/law\/documents\/requestforpermissiontoexceedcredithourmax.docx\">Request a waiver<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Academic Regulation 5.2 \u2013 PT students must enroll in at least 8 credit hours, but no more than 11 credit hours<\/li>\n<li>Academic Regulation 8.1 \u2013 Transfer to FT (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/law\/documents\/requestforpermissiontotransfertofull-timeprogram.docx\">Request permission to transfer<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Academic Regulation 10.1(b) \u2013 Students may not register for courses that have conflicting examination schedules without prior permission from the (Associate) Dean (<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/ExamConflict\">Request a waiver<\/a>)<\/li>\n<li>Academic Regulation 16.1(d) 1 &amp; 2 \u2013 Limitations on Courses for Credit toward Graduation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>THIS AND THAT<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have needed an Alternate PIN in the past registration period, or\u00a0<em>myMemphis<\/em>\u00a0indicates you need one, contact Ms. Edwards.\u00a0<strong>CHECK THIS PRIOR TO YOUR DESIGNATED REGISTRATION DAY.<\/strong>\u00a0 An Alternate PIN\u00a0<em><strong>will<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>prevent you from registering, which means the morning of registration, you will be super frustrated, because you may not get a seat in a highly sought-after course.<\/li>\n<li>If you owe the University money, and you have a hold on your account, you must have the hold cleared prior to your designated registration day or the system\u00a0<em><strong>will<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>prevent you from registering.<\/li>\n<li>Once posted, you should review the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/law\/registrar\/registration_courseinformation.php\">Exam Schedule<\/a>\u00a0and if any courses you plan to enroll in have conflicting exams, you must\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/bit.ly\/ExamConflict\">request a waiver<\/a>\u00a0from Dean Wilson\u00a0<strong>BEFORE<\/strong>\u00a0registering for any courses.<\/li>\n<li>Questions about registration or problems with registering on your designated day?\u00a0<strong><a href=\"mailto:cedwrds2@memphis.edu\">Contact<\/a>\u00a0Ms. Edwards in Law Registrar\u2019s office.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IF YOU\u2019RE READING THIS, PLEASE TELL A FRIEND TO CHECK THE BLOG!
