{"id":27222,"date":"2023-01-30T15:30:30","date_gmt":"2023-01-30T21:30:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=27222"},"modified":"2023-01-23T17:07:32","modified_gmt":"2023-01-23T23:07:32","slug":"symposium-teaching-bias-cultural-competency-and-racism-in-law-schools-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/symposium-teaching-bias-cultural-competency-and-racism-in-law-schools-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Symposium: TEACHING BIAS, CULTURAL COMPETENCY, AND RACISM IN LAW SCHOOLS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The 2023 Herff Chair of Excellence Symposium will be a virtual\/hybrid event at the University of Memphis School of Law, centering education on &#8220;bias, cultural competency, and racism&#8221; in law schools as required by the American Bar Association&#8217;s new standard 303(c).<\/p>\n<p>Discussions will focus on how law programs will meet 303(c)&#8217;s requirement, the challenges law schools might encounter implementing the standard, the attacks on critical race theory, and more. <\/p>\n<p>This is a free event.  Students may attend the symposium in person (Wade auditorium) or virtually.
