\"\"<\/a>Memphis OUTlaw is an organization that provides educational support, professional development, mentoring, and networking opportunities for LGBTQ or ally law students. Some of our latest accomplishments include:<\/div>\n

  • in 2020, OUTlaw has been recognized by the National LGBTQ Bar Association<\/li>\n
  • in 2022, OUTlaw created an Alternative Spring Break clinic to help over 50 transgender clients legally change their name in Shelby County and hosted a drag show fundraiser to cover their court fees,<\/li>\n
  • in 2022, OUTlaw hosted a 2 day “Love Wins” event with Jim Obergefell and his attorney Al Gerhardstein, the named Plaintiff and lawyer in Obergefell v. Hodges<\/i>, the landmark case that legalized same-sex marriage in 2015 with the help of our very own Professor Regina Hillman.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    With all the accomplishments we have celebrated in the last few years a few things have stayed the same: how we run our organization. OUTlaw prides itself on IN<\/b>C<\/b>L<\/b>U<\/b>S<\/b>I<\/b>V<\/b>I<\/b>TY<\/b>.\u00a0 There are no membership fees<\/strong>, no mandatory meetings<\/strong>,\u00a0 and you don’t have to identify anywhere on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum.<\/b>\u00a0 The only requirement is that you will support and advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and fellow law students.<\/p>\n
