{"id":24619,"date":"2022-07-06T09:18:43","date_gmt":"2022-07-06T14:18:43","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=24619"},"modified":"2022-07-06T09:18:43","modified_gmt":"2022-07-06T14:18:43","slug":"pro-bono-opportunity-5","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/pro-bono-opportunity-5\/","title":{"rendered":"Pro Bono Opportunity!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shelby County Court Cost Clinic, July 30, 2022, is a great opportunity for students to get <em>pro bono<\/em> hours.<\/p>\n<p><b>Below are services to be offered:<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Volunteer attorneys will be presenting court cost waivers on behalf of registrants. 7 out of 8 judges for General Sessions-Criminal Court will be presiding.\u00a0 This is a BIG deal because most folks owe court costs, which impact their driver&#8217;s license and ability to get expungements. \u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Shelby County Child Support Services will be reviewing cases for modification purposes, program assistance, and driver&#8217;s license holds.<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Expungement service for General Sessions cases.\u00a0 Expungement research will be done by Clerk\u2019s Office.\u00a0 Volunteers will review file with client and make sure they sign necessary documents\/orders.<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Shelby County rental assistance program representatives will be on-site to accept applications<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Driver&#8217;s License reinstatement support services \/ Drive While You Pay programs will be on-site for assistance\u00a0<\/b><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n<p><b>-Manhood University is offering $2,500 for driver&#8217;s license reinstatement for any registrant who completes program<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Here is the link to register and for information: <a href=\"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/07\/Shelby-County-Court-Cost-Clinic-Flyer-copy.pdf\">Shelby County Court Cost Clinic &#8211; Flyer copy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Shelby County Court Cost Clinic, July 30, 2022, is a great opportunity for students to get pro bono hours.
