{"id":2294,"date":"2015-03-07T17:00:51","date_gmt":"2015-03-07T23:00:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/onlegalgrounds.law.memphis.edu\/wordpress\/?p=2294"},"modified":"2015-03-07T17:00:51","modified_gmt":"2015-03-07T23:00:51","slug":"gideons-promise-summer-internship-1ls-2ls","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/gideons-promise-summer-internship-1ls-2ls\/","title":{"rendered":"Gideon&#8217;s Promise Summer Internship (1Ls &amp; 2Ls)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/gideonspromise.org\/\">Gideon\u2019s Promise<\/a>\u00a0has announced Summer Internship Opportunities for 1Ls and 2Ls.\u00a0\u00a0The mission of this organization is to \u201cinspire, mobilize, and train\u201d public defenders to provide quality representation for their clients and to ensure those who are most vulnerable have equal access to criminal justice.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to providing continuing education,\u00a0Gideon&#8217;s Promise\u00a0manages a <a href=\"http:\/\/gideonspromise.org\/law-schools\/summer-law-clerk\/\">Summer Law Clerk<\/a> program designed to expose interested law school students to indigent defense. Several of our partner offices are still accepting clerk applications, including the Shelby County Public Defender in Memphis.\u00a0\u00a01L and 2L students are encouraged to apply.
