{"id":17279,"date":"2020-08-31T12:52:53","date_gmt":"2020-08-31T17:52:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=17279"},"modified":"2020-08-31T12:52:53","modified_gmt":"2020-08-31T17:52:53","slug":"grief-counseling-resources-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/grief-counseling-resources-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Grief Counseling Resources"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Students,<\/p>\n<p>I wanted to make you aware of several continuing options for grief counseling.<\/p>\n<p><strong>University Counseling Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Dr. David Deason, the law school counselor, is available for remote counseling appointments.\u00a0 Services are <strong>free<\/strong> for currently enrolled students.\u00a0 Appointments can be made by calling the University Counseling Center at 901.678.2068.<\/p>\n<p>If you are in crisis, you can call Campus Police at 901-678 HELP (4357) and ask to speak to the on-call counselor.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Centers for Good Grief<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.bmhgiving.org\/cgg-kwfc-about\">The Baptist Centers for Good Grief<\/a>\u00a0offer\u00a0<strong>free<\/strong> individual grief counseling to all ages, as young as 4 years old and no cap on the adult age.\u00a0 Appointments are scheduled Monday-Friday, from 9am-4pm.\u00a0 \u00a0Call <a href=\"tel:901-861-5656\">901-861-5656<\/a> to schedule an appointment.<\/p>\n<p><strong>University of Memphis Psychological Services Center<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/psychology\/centers\/psc.php\">The University of Memphis Psychological Services Center<\/a> also offers grief and counseling services at a reduced cost ($12\/hour) for full-time students.\u00a0 \u00a0Call 901.678.2147 to schedule an appointment.\u00a0 Tell them you are a law student in need of grief counseling.\u00a0 (Note:\u00a0 there is no limit to the amount of sessions permitted, unlike the University of Memphis, which has semester limits on the number of visits by each student).<\/p>\n<p>Thanks,<br \/>\nDean Aden<\/p>\n<div id=\"tptn_counter_12105\" class=\"tptn_counter\">(Visited 34<\/div>\n<h2><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Dear Students, I wanted to make you aware of several continuing options for grief counseling.
