The course is a five-day immersion course scheduled over Spring Break (March 9 &#8211; 13).\u00a0 The course is offered in conjunction with the Tennessee District Attorney General\u2019s Conference (TNDAG), which is held annually at the Law School during spring break week. \u00a0The course is intended to offer a select number of students interested in criminal trial advocacy intensive training in and exposure to prosecutorial litigation skills and strategy.<\/p>\n<p>In a &#8220;master class&#8221; approach to learning, experienced prosecutors from across the state of Tennessee will present instruction on all aspects of criminal trial practice, including jury selection, pretrial motions, opening statements, direct and cross examinations, evidentiary objections, and closing argument.\u00a0 Devoted sessions will focus on interviewing and preparing witnesses, selecting juries, case analysis, charging decisions, discovery, and prosecutorial ethics, and professionalism.\u00a0 In those sections requiring student performance (of examinations, opening statement, and closing argument), students will receive critique, including individual reviews of student performances.<\/p>\n<p>Title:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Advanced Criminal Prosecution<\/p>\n<p>Credits:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 1<\/p>\n<p>Graded:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Pass\/Fail (ungraded)<\/p>\n<p>Prereqs:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Trial Advocacy, Professional Responsibility, Constitutional Law, Criminal Procedure, Evidence<\/p>\n<p>Class Size:\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 No more than 4 students<\/p>\n<p>If you have questions about the course, please contact me or Prof. D.
