{"id":11753,"date":"2018-09-06T15:14:18","date_gmt":"2018-09-06T20:14:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=11753"},"modified":"2018-09-06T15:14:18","modified_gmt":"2018-09-06T20:14:18","slug":"disability-accommodations-textbook-classroom-and-final-exam-accommodations-4","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/disability-accommodations-textbook-classroom-and-final-exam-accommodations-4\/","title":{"rendered":"Disability Accommodations \u2013 Textbook, Classroom, and Final Exam Accommodations"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It is the policy of our law school to make reasonable accommodations for students whose disabilities entitle them to accommodations.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Classroom &amp; Textbook Accommodations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you need classroom or textbook accommodations for the current academic semester and have not already requested them, please contact DRS as soon as possible to set up a meeting.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Exam Accommodations<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>To ensure adequate time to process exam accommodation requests, students should contact\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/drs\/\">Disability Resources for Students<\/a>\u00a0as soon as possible to begin the exam accommodation process. \u00a0Since gathering the information required for accommodations often involves considerable time and effort, students requesting accommodations for the first time should begin the accommodations process as soon as possible, but no later than Friday, September 21, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Students who have previously received accommodations while in law school at The University of Memphis should contact their coordinator at Disability Resources for Students\u00a0to request accommodations to update or renew their accommodation plans by Friday October 19, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>Disability Resources for Students\u00a0is committed to assisting students in obtaining appropriate accommodations, but accommodations requested after Friday, November 2, 2018 (both initial requests and continuing requests) are not guaranteed to be in place by the time law school exams begin on Monday, December 3, 2018.<\/p>\n<p>A student who may be entitled to an accommodation should contact\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/drs\/\">Disability Resources for Students<\/a>, 110 Wilder Tower, at (901) 678-2880.<\/p>\n<p>If you are unsure whether you might qualify for an accommodation or wish to talk with someone about the process, please contact\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:jmurchis@memphis.edu\">Jennifer Murchison<\/a>, Assistant Director of Disability Resources for Students,\u00a0(678-2880). \u00a0For further information, please go to the University\u2019s Disability Resources for Students webpage\u00a0located\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.memphis.edu\/drs\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It is the policy of our law school to make reasonable accommodations for students whose disabilities entitle them to accommodations.
