{"id":11024,"date":"2018-03-26T13:18:14","date_gmt":"2018-03-26T18:18:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/?p=11024"},"modified":"2018-03-26T13:18:14","modified_gmt":"2018-03-26T18:18:14","slug":"reminder-applications-for-christian-soronen-award-due-this-friday-3-30","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/memphislawblog.com\/index.php\/reminder-applications-for-christian-soronen-award-due-this-friday-3-30\/","title":{"rendered":"Reminder: Applications for Christian Soronen Award Due This Friday (3\/30)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We are now accepting applications for the Christian Soronen Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy.\u00a0 The official announcement and statement of the requirements is below.\u00a0 The<strong> deadline for applications is 4:00 pm Friday, March 30.<\/strong>\u00a0 To apply, please submit a resume and a letter (addressed to the Selection Committee) explaining your qualifications for the award and reasons the Committee should select you.\u00a0 Submit applications electronically to Ms. Kesha Pritchard at\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:kprtchr1@memphis.edu\">kprtchr1@memphis.edu<\/a>.\u00a0 It will be easiest for the Committee if you submit the application in a single pdf document.\u00a0 The subject line of your email should clearly state your name and that the attachment is your application for the Soronen Award.\u00a0 Please address any questions about the award or the application process to Director of Advocacy Barbara Kritchevsky.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Christian Soronen Award for Excellence in Oral Advocacy\u00a0<\/strong>was established in memory of Christian Soronen, a 2007 graduate of University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law. The scholarship will be awarded to a third-year law student in good academic standing. The student must have been a member of a moot court travel team or selected to be a member of such a team during his or her third year. Third-year students who have been or will be a member of a mock trial team, alternative dispute resolution team and have competed in the Advanced Moot Court Competition are also eligible.
