Upcoming: SBA Executive Board Elections
Interested in being on the Executive Board for the Student Bar Association? Here is your chance! Starting March 16th, SBA will be releasing the documents for people interested in the following positions: Treasurer, Secretary, Director of Events, Community Service Liaison, Elections Commissioner/ SBA Representative SGA Senator-Elect (must be a rising 2L). CORRECTION, Director of Marketing is not an available position on the 2022-23 Ballot. Please read the following important information for all the details. Important Deadlines
- The grade release form, Signature pages, and interest statement should all be submitted by Friday March 25 at 4 PM to the Election’s Commissioner, Melba Martin. Her email is mmmrtin7@memphis.edu.
- Elections for these positions will be held from Monday, March 28 until Thursday, March 31 on TigerZone. The SBA Election Rules detail everything that each candidate must do in order to be eligible to run. Read the SBA Election Rules carefully and mind the specific due dates. Here is a brief summary of the main requirements. – Email the Election Commissioner (Melba Martin) expressing your desire to run; be sure to include which position you would like to run for. – Submit a Grade Release form to the Election Commissioner either by email or submission via mailbox 233. – Submit a written statement (200-word limit) to the Election Commissioner via email. mmmrtin7@memphis.edu The statement will be included on the ballot so voting students can get a sense of who they’re voting for. – Get fellow students to “sign” your signature pages to run. Attached to the elections forms for each respective position are signatures pages that must be turned in for an individual to be included on the ballot.
