Tomorrow Interest Meeting During Lunch Room 244 — Memphis Muslim Student Bar Association

The Memphis Muslim Student Bar Association (“MMSBA”) is an organization that conducts social and cultural events on campus, while also promoting off-campus religious activities, creating professional networking opportunities with the local diverse legal community, and volunteering for various local organizations.

MMSBA hosted events with United States Supreme Court named Plaintiff, Tennessee Supreme Court Justice, other Judges, and District Attorney, and MMSBA hosted continuing legal education events for attorneys, judges, and other legal professionals to enhance understanding of diverse communities. Also, MMSBA prepared a legislative draft that has been filed with the Tennessee legislature, and it helped students earn pro bono credit hours required for graduation from law school. Additionally, MMSBA students worked on post-conviction appeal of a defendant that gave them meaningful professional experience.

Just recently, MMSBA members prepared a petition to Congressmen to help release $75 million provided by Congress in the FY2023 Foreign Operations Appropriations Bill for food assistance to the West Bank and Gaza strip. Many thanks to those of you who signed that petition.

Please join us for lunch on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 in Room 244 between 12:00pm-1:00pm. RSVP required on this link:
