TBA YLD’s Ethics CLE

The Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers Division will present its new ethics CLE series here in Shelby County on Friday, October 10th! Programming will be held from 9:00am to 2:00pm at Meeman-Shelby Forest Park, 910 Riddick Road, Millington, TN 38053. Attendees may register here: TBA CLE.

This ethics series will feature 3 panel discussions and provide attendees with the opportunity to earn their full annual dual credit requirement. Registration includes the panel discussions (featuring our West Tennessee Supreme Court Justices, Chief Justice Holly Kirby and Justice Mary Wagner), lunch from Memphis attorney Quinton Thompson’s new restaurant, Just Love Coffee Cafe, and a ranger-led hike through Shelby Forest Park. St Jude Children’s Research Hospital is the event’s featured charity partner.

Programming will include the following panel discussions:

  1. “Does It Please the Court?” — A conversation on courtroom best practices, ethical pro bono representation and access to justice with Chief Justice Holly Kirby and Justice Mary Wagner, Tennessee Supreme Court This session is moderated by Jennifer Sneed (ALSAC/St. Jude).

  1. “Outside-of-the-Box Advocacy” with Jessica Van Dyke (Tennessee Innocence Project).

  1. “The Ethics of Saying No” — A thoughtful session with panelists Constance Brown (City of Memphis City Attorney’s Office), Nicole Grida (Memphis Area Legal Services), Will Perry (Butler Snow), and Faith Watson (Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law). The session is moderated by Quinton Thompson (Morgan & Morgan).
