Summer Internships with the TN Dept. of Commerce and Insurance

The Tennessee Department of Commerce and Insurance (TDCI) is accepting applications for Summer 2023 legal intern position(s) within the Office of Legal Counsel. The Department is responsible for the regulation of the insurance and securities industries, as well as 26 professions, including accountants, architects, engineers, cosmetologists, court reporters, and mixed martial artists.  Additionally, the Department trains and certifies firefighters and law enforcement officers and houses the State Fire Marshal’s Office. The Office of Legal Counsel provides legal services to the programs housed within the Department. The intern(s) will support the associate general counsels with various legal projects.
These positions will be in Nashville, TN. Some positions are paid and some are unpaid. If you accept an unpaid position, it is pre-approved for pro bono credit at Memphis Law. Unpaid positions might also be eligible for academic credit through the externship program, if you get pre-approval from Prof. Danny Schaffzin.
