| We got a great response from our summer fellowship timeline last year, so we are now continuing to allow the option to apply early to certain organizations as a rising-2L!
First Round, Rising 2L’s Only Timeline:
• Today – Monday, June 1, 2026 – Applications open to rising 2L-applicants only. Mentor orgs can begin interviewing students as they receive applications.
• Friday, July 31, 2026 –Orgs can make their PBF selections, informing PBF staff for offers. Interviewing continues, as needed throughout August & September.
• Tuesday, September 30, 2026 – PBF First Round Application portal closes.
Please note that this will not replace our “traditional” timeline with the November application opening and December offer-making that we have followed for the past couple of years.
We will still be opening the application process up normally in the fall and inviting 1Ls & 2Ls to apply.
If you decide to apply during this session, and do not secure a fellowship– you will be able to re-apply in November.
Keep an eye on open orgs here –
orgs will be added as we receive their info!
Keep an eye out!
The Peggy Browning Fund offers paid summer fellowship for 1L and 2L law students in union-side labor law and workplace justice advocacy. Over 10-weeks, students gain practical and substantive skills in the practice of workers’ rights law and build a network that will support them through their legal education and beyond. Not only is PBF the premier labor law fellowship program, it’s also a national network of over 1,500 alumni, designed to open the door and empower the next generation of workplace justice advocates.
