ST. LOUIS DIVERSITY JOB FAIR, August 12-13 (Application Deadline June 10)

DIVERSITY JOB FAIR, ST. LOUIS, AUG 12-13
APPLICATION DEADLINE: June 10, 2016
Students in the classes of 2017 and 2018 are invited to participate in the St. Louis Diversity Job Fair this summer.
The Job Fair will kick-off with small group student attorney networking dinners on Friday, August 12, beginning at 5:30 p.m. (locations to be announced) and interviews will be held Saturday, August 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Thompson Coburn law offices, One US Bank Plaza St. Louis, Missouri. Specific details re both events will be posted on the St. Louis Diversity Job Fair web site at http://www.stldiversityjobfair.com and through Simplicity as they become available.
The deadline for law student registration is Friday, June 10, 2016 at midnight (CST); absolutely no extensions will be allowed. All students must be registered by this date in order to participate in the Job Fair. Law students can register for the 2016 St. Louis Diversity Job Fair by going to https://law-sldjf-csm.symplicity.com/. When registering, students must provide the name of a contact in the school’s Career Services office that will be available to assist with coordinating the student participation in the Job Fair. The law school representative will be Chesney McAfee, cfmcafee@memphis.edu, 901-678-3257.
Documentation needed to register for the Job Fair:
1. Law student resume
2. Law school transcript (unofficial is ok)
3. One page personal statement, in lieu of or in addition to a cover letter which addresses the following:
Employers participating in the 2016 St. Louis Diversity Job Fair believe that diversity of thought and experience enriches a dynamic work atmosphere. Please provide a one page statement as to how you would contribute to this value.
4. Brief writing sample
It may take up to one business day to get a student’s initial registration approved. Students should not submit a second registration and/or contact the Career Services Office for assistance if they have not allowed the Job Fair administrator enough time to review the initial registration materials. The same request for patience applies for resume and additional documents approval.
The St. Louis Diversity Job Fair offers full or partial financial stipends to students who would be unable to attend the Job Fair without the financial assistance. The number and amount of stipends awarded is contingent on requests received and funds available. Students who need financial assistance should contact Danielle Carr at daniellecarr@polsinelli.com. The deadline for submitting the financial stipend application is Friday, July 1, at midnight (CST).
