Shopper’s Garage Security Measures

Hi Students,

Premium Parking has provided information regarding some of the security measures taking place in the Shopper’s Garage:

  • 12-hour dedicated security guard coverage in the evening hours beginning 7p – 7a and adjusted to 5p-5a during Daylight Savings Time
  • Security guard is in a marked car with flashing lights affixed to their vehicle
  • License Plate Recognition Cameras to capture frame-by-frame movement of the garage’s vehicular ingress/egress points
  • Security guard walks the garage every 30 minutes
  • Security guard also ride the garage in their vehicle once an hour as an additional visibility procedure
  • CCTV Camera System with multiple cameras on each level, except for Levels 5 & 6 which both have a single camera
  • Cameras on the garage exterior that allow for visibility along the North to South corridor of the facility
  • Downtown Memphis Commission’s Blue Suede Brigade also has a physical presence at the garage for 2-hours a day with a personnel figure stationed at the garage from 8a – 9a and again from 4p – 5p. Anyone can call the Blue Suede Brigade at 901-281-9146 before 11pm and request an escort within the downtown area

Starting on November 11th, the garage will have the guard that comes on at 5p be stationed at the corner of Jefferson & Front Street from 5p – 6p to help provide additional visibility to students as they return to the garage during that window of time each evening.

*Please Note* Due to the increased security provided by the license plate recognition cameras, it is important that you have your license plate registered in the Premium Parking app to avoid a boot/ticket.
